I fell asleep during the opening bands...
...By the time Two If By Sea took the stage, I was exhausted. It was kind of like waking up from a nap that was a few minutes too short or too long. You know, the nap has to be exactly 30, 45 or 90 minutes or you wake up feeling terrible. That's how I felt. Opening bands will do that to you sometimes. However, as soon as Two If By Sea smashed into their first song, my ears perked up and my feet gained some life.
This was one of the best performances I have seen them give in quite some time. The crowd-jeering from stage right was pure entertainment. I think they should incorporate crowd-jeering into their set from this point out. My favorite was, "I guess all the old people had to leave early because they have to wake up and catch the PBS news." Classic.
Anyways, Two If By Sea's live shows are kind of like an 80s dance party, expect without the goofy neon jumpsuits and with a lot more rock n roll. If new-wave rock or, simply, rock music is your thing, do yourself a favor and catch Two If By Sea. They are exactly what you've been looking for.
