An introspective look into a band whose genuity and integrity haven't been scathed by the fact that they are on a major label, this DVD/EP combo is an essential for any Thrice enthusiast. Though most of us have all the songs on the EP anyways, it's cool to get them all at once and some of the songs are SLIGHTLY different from their other versions. But that's not why most people would buy this anyway, so looking at it as a bonus deal, it makes a lot of sense and seems like a great addition.
The DVD takes on a very personalized approach, with home-footage appeal and lots of funny, goofy stuff, making for an intimate experience with the band. It includes all the footage from all their major tours since the beginning really, and has lots of interviews and discussions with the band (duh) producers, the band's close friends, and those who have been involved with Thrice since it's conception. It was cool to see some rough high-school gym footage of the band playing likely their first show, and I was pretty satisfied with the very in-depth, comprehensive footage.
I was suprised to see there wasn't more live material on the disc, however, as the band's live act is one to be reckoned with. There are a few live songs, which are rad to see, but it would've been stellar to see an entire live show or something like that. So while the DVD certainly covers all comprehensive footage and has a very personal feel to it, it lacks a lot of live footage of the band. Which shouldn't be problem since most of the people who will be buying this have probably seen Thrice at least thrice. Haha. So if you are an avid fan of this band, I'd strongly recommend picking this up, as you will feel closer to this band than ever before.
