It was awesome to see Drive-Thru suddenly launch a bunch of awesome bands which were very different from the style on the rest of the label. Finally, a little bit of uniqueness is approaching; not that I don't love the pop-punk sound, but I am really glad to see bands like Something Corporate, Finch, and H20 showcase a little different style.
This CDEP was definitely a great one. I was really impressed from start to finish, and amazed at the talent of the band. I love the piano! If you haven't heard, these guys actually have a traditional piano in their music. It sounds great and adds a lot to the band, although the vocals and guitar work is still amazing. However, from a lyrical standpoint, the band gives me an odd impression. They start the CDEP with a quite sincere approach in Hurricane, but in IF yoU C Jordan, there's a very insincere sound behind the almost immature lyrics. Then on the last 3 tracks, there is again that great sincere, poetic, and deep approach to the lyrics. Maybe I am missing something. Anyways, the vocals are excellent and the music simply original and great. I was quite impressed with this band's first major label debut, even though they have a lot of experience. Get this asap, you definitely won't regret it.
