The name "Astoria," surely rings a bell in my head, but I honestly hadn't heard them until this EP. And let me tell you, I couldn't have been more impressed. Their music can only be described as "infectious emo," and I think that any avid emo-fan would agree with me. The melodies are those that can easily get stuck in your head, and in a good way.

I really really liked "Electricity," with its great blend of pop and emo. "When the snow falls.." can't help but get stuck in my head. Such great lyrics, such intensely good emo. This wasn't the only incredible song. I was equally as impressed with "Say Anything New;" more great melodies and that infectious sound is just soo appealing to me. The other tunes are kicking, but I think that those two were probably the best songs I've heard in a really long time. (I know that phrase is probably getting a little repetitive, but what else can I say, incredible stuff). The vocals especially, something about them just really sounds great. A perfect sound, and the backing vocals fit in just perfectly with the guitars. Should I even bother mentioning that the guitars and the way they construct the melodies just is too perfect?

Pick up this CDEP, I don't even care what bands you like; if you are into emo at all you will most likely, like me, be blown away by this band's (yes, again) infectious and wholly appealing sound. The only thing some might not like is that the EP is bound to get old after awhile. But his vocals aren't likely to annoy anyone anytime soon. It might get repetitive and you might get sick of it, but this CDEP definitely rocks!

Unfortunately, this EP isn't pressed anymore. Hopefully you can find it somewhere, somehow!
